Charles Iroegbu’s Neo Classification of Beings

18 Nov

I feel like I should make aware to my readers the communication I have had with Charles Iroegbu. Charles contacted me after reading my Classification of Beings writing that I posted here awhile back. He wrote an article on the same subject of his own. He asked me to look at it and I did. He also wanted me to put it on Google Docs for him, and I did so as well. The document can be found on Google at this link:

I want to discuss my feelings about it, but do not continue reading until you have taken a look at the link where Charles’  article is. He goes to the University of Nigeria by the way.

Charles classified beings closely similar to the way I did. He distinguished a God being, a Death being, a Human being, an animo-plant being, and a lifeless being. He calls things differently than I do, but his view metaphysically parallels mine. The God being is of course the unmoved mover and the God that I constantly refer to. The death being is the spirits that have left the human being state. The human being is obviously the state of life that we as humans are all in where our bodies are not separated from our souls. The animo-plant being is what I would describe as the beings with non-nous souls. The lifeless being is the beings that of course have no life such as the desk my computer sits on.

What I really like about Charles’ understanding of the classification of the world metaphysically, is that he goes against Aristotelian thought that the body is too personalized to be separated from the soul.  Near death experiences that some have had where they experience the leaving of their body towards a somewhat spiritual world would not be explainable if the body were together forever with the soul.

Charles discusses being really only in terms of ontological existence. When I wrote my classification of beings, I classified things in three ways, by  location in the cosmos, matter making up the being, and spirit. Charles mostly discusses beings based on their spiritual status. The God being is an all powerful omnipotent spirit. The Death being is spirit after physical life after death. The human being is spirit before death. The animo-plant being is spirit without intelligence. The lifeless being is what confused me as to his mode of classification.  The lifeless being is of no spirit at all, so I am understanding that Charles is classifying things based on their mere ontological status.

I should not have a problem here really because it is my opinion that whatever is experienced or observed is ontologically existent at one time or another. Maybe my classification of beings was more complex than necessary because of how I broke things up into three modes of classification. Charles simplifies things because of how he reduces classification down to level of ontological existence.

And they are all real at one time or another because they whatever is seen is actualized existence. The metaphysical classification of being by Charles is basically a reduction of metaphysics to a level of ontology.

Thanks for the support, and thanks to Charles Iroegbu for contacting me.

Rene Descartes Meditations on First Philosophy: First Meditation

26 Aug

Rene Descartes published a ground breaking set of meditations on his philosophy including 6 meditations that presented great thoughts. My aim is to talk about each meditation and its philosophy in detail. Previously I posted a writing of mine of a synopsis and discussion about all meditations together (which actually was a paper I did almost 2 years ago) and that can be found amongst the Archives and the Rene Descartes category to your right. Here I only want to talk about the first Meditation and what it says about  concerning things that can be doubted.

Descartes begins the meditation by looking back on his previous opinions and states them to have doubt and therefore to be false. A big statement in the beginning of the meditation is when he says that anything that can have some ground for doubt, can be immediately rejected. He looks for complete truth, and stating this is a good start, but goes a little bit to far in my opinion. If I recognize something to have doubt, it would be my opinionated decision to get to the root of those doubts about it, and possibly modify my hypotheses to resolve the doubts. Often the resolution of doubts can lead to ultimate rejection of what is discussed, and in this case Descartes would be right. This rejection of all doubted things is too broad and should be specialized to certain doubts, while excluding other doubts for further discussion and exploration towards a resolution of it. Doubting things is good because it leads to further understanding, and should not be a shortcut to abandonment of the whole hypotheses.

After having said this Descartes discusses the instances of dreams and perceived reality and how we cannot be sure which is which. He clearly states that he previously strictly relied on the senses. But now stating that senses having deceived him before, it cannot be a certain action to rely on something that has deceived us even once. Descartes questions here if he is awake in a certain space and time, because he has some question of his senses because they have deceived him. He goes on to say that a God exists that is all powerful and all knowing, as he states the deception of his senses. The meditation ends by him stating the powerfulness and goodness of God, but with an evil spirit within God. And that God uses the senses and creates illusions to appear to them, simply to deceive him.  He further states that knowing this he can circumvent this deception of God by not accepting any falsities into his beliefs and therefore defeating God’s purpose in deceiving him.

I can understand Descartes’ recognition of the senses deceiving him because our sensory organs are not reliable and can often deceive us simply by mistake. There is not a real purpose behind the mistakes our sensory organs make other than it is something that can often confuse us. Our senses using sight can produce mirages, hallucinations, epistemologically false sense data and others, but it is only a mistake our distorted sensory organs make. My end point is that God does not deceive us, but He distorts our understanding in a lesser form of deception which I get to. This paragraph is not of Descartes’ philosophy by the way, it is of my own. The distortion God put unto our senses is not because he wants to deceive us, and Descartes’ view of God is totally false. However, what Descartes perceived was the distortion we all experience causing us simply to have questions and seek out understanding.

The key to the difference between Descartes’ reality and the real reality is in God’s identity as a deity.  Descartes sees him as powerful, and mostly good, but having evil spirit in him. Saying that a good God has evil spirit in him is a blatant contradiction. In the real world God is sympathetic, loving, caring, generous, and amazing. God also does not deceive anyone, that is Satan’s business.  Our purpose on earth is to worship God, and to find Him amongst the evils. Without the senses we have being distorted, there would be no purpose in life because we would know everything, and God’s purpose for putting us here on this earth would be nullified. So the real God’s distortion of the human’s senses is justified because if this distortion were not existent, our purpose for being here would not exist. But this distortion of our sense is not deception as Descartes understands it. Deception involves tricking a person to lead them down an evil, dead, horrific path that if a person goes down this path, the deceiving would have won, and the deceived would be led to ultimate demise. Satan works in this business, and often leads many down this very path, and they end up in the fires of Hell. God does not do this deception. God’s distortion of our senses and understanding is to lead us towards the narrow path towards  eternal salvation. Descartes fails to recognize that God is entirely good and has all good intentions for his choice to distort our sensory understanding. God does this distortion to our senses because he wants us to eventually seek Him for guidance, where in the event of one doing that, they are rewarded with eternal salvation. For example if one aims to see what is in heaven and hell and at first seeks no help in God, he will be led nowhere in his investigation. God uses this being led nowhere to lead people to His teaching, and to realize (in this specific example) that heaven and hell are to be totally understood when we get to heaven by eternal salvation. Descartes endorses the common misconception of God in that people see God as the fear mongering, angry, acting, and wrath enacting God which is false in all areas. God really is loving, saddened (not angry) at sin, generous, forgiving and great. Descartes misunderstanding of God falsifies his whole argument about doubts and the illusions the sensory data he says it to be.

Based on his false misunderstandings, he states that he can defeat the deceiving God by not admitting any falsities into his philosophy. If he does this he wins against the deceptions. Now, odd as it is, a true statement came out of a false one in that upon his false misunderstandings, he states that no falsities should be admitted into ones own philosophy. This is entirely true in that we should never admit falsities into our philosophy if we can see ever that a certain proposition is false.

It saddens me to see that someone sees God in such a way, but the meditation provoked my thought in the inferences that were somewhat true in their nature. I plan on discussing the next 5 meditations in Descartes Meditations on First Philosophy.

Thanks for the support.

Mild Anarchy

24 May
A few examples of bad lawmaking. I do not think that government should have a say in the smaller things that we do in our lives
  • Smoking indoors (Nebraska)- was done because the nonsmokers do not like the smoke. They should go somewhere else if they do not like it. Smoking is a small event and there should be no law preventing it anywhere.
  • Slander (USA)- In the USA, it is unlawful to say something false about any person, especially the president. I think that slander should be a part of the First Amendment to free speech. Saying something false(libel/slander) could be something used for comedy or art and should be lawful in case one wanted to say something about another. Libel cases should not have any profit in it.
  • Any crime that is executed over the internet-   I do not condone predators online or pedophilia, but in my mind, the person does nothing unless something is done outside of a computer. If one sees kiddie porn online, the person needs mental help but did no crime at all. If a person abused a child, severe punishment is needed. If a predator talks to a child online, he has done nothing wrong, but if the predator had relations or abused the child, severe punishment is needed.
  • Gambling anywhere-  Nebraska does not legalize gambling in this state, so a lot of money is directed across the river to Iowa where gambling is allowed. That is not the issue but because of how Nebraska doesnt like gambling, a lot of money is lost. I think gambling should be allowed everywhere because, the person should have discretion on what he or she spends gambling. The person has total discretion over what he or she does.

Actions Requiring Legal Involvement

I think that there are a few actions that one can do that require legal action. Other than the below, no action or sin requires legal involvement by government.

1) Murder- in any possible sense. by accident or on purpose.

2) Rape/Sexual Abuse/Sexual abuse of children/sexual harassment

3) Assault- This basically meaning hurting others (use of a gun to hurt others is attempted murder) without actually killing them.

4)Theft– Taking anything from anyone. Robbery, burglary, id theft, fraud, embezzlement, purse snatching etc.)

5) Terrorism– Including hijacking a plane, carjacking, bombing etc.

6) Societal Abuse- a citizen themselves cannot commit this crime. If a financial company, bank or any other financial institution charges the citizens excessive fees, its societal abuse. If the government overtaxes the citizens its societal abuse and the leader(s) can be impeached. Any tyrannical act by a leader is also societal abuse.

Each of the 6 crimes are somewhat vague because there are lots of kinds of theft, terrorism, murder, sexual abuse, assault and societal abuse. This is not really anarchy, it is just much less government. The idea of capitalism would still be in place and free enterprise would still follow suit. Anarchy is the opposite of socialism. If anarchy itself had a type of economy it would be capitalism because anyone is allowed to start a business and make any financial moves.

Societal abuse is something that I think should be  a crime because my idea of SA occurs on a daily basis in USA. The country is in a recession because of SA. People are taking and taking and there ends up not being enough to keep the citizens afloat. That is societal abuse. There will be a further post on further detail of societal abuse and what the enforcement of it would aim for.

On a last note, the second category, sexual abuse, would not involve public nudity unless the person was directing their nudity towards someone to try to get something. For example, here in Nebraska, a guy kept appearing to a few different women naked and jacking off saying “Hey baby, want some?” That would be illegal in my limited government. If the person was just walking around naked or just flashing a crowd or if the whole crowd was naked, it would be perfectly lawful.

I know my views are weird but I just think that today, government has become somewhat tyrannical and should be limited to the 6 above laws to enforce. EVERYTHING ELSE should not be enforced because it is lawful.

Catastrophism and the Christian Roller Coaster

20 May

Throughout the development of Geognosy to Geology, arguments maintained through catastrophism. Later with Hutton, Lyell and Smith, Geology was founded through Uniformitarianism or Gradualism.

Catastrophism: Neptunists of Geognosy used this theory that the earth depositied metamorphic, igneous and sedimentary rock through short lived catastrophies. These catastrophic events shaped the earth to what it is now according to the Neptunists.

Uniformitarianism: aka Gradualism. The earth has had deposits of igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic rock by slow processes that were/are long lived and still are taking place.

Neocatastrophism: The dinosaurs and other pre historic animals went extinct because of a catastrophe like a long lived ice age or a volcano or an earthquake. I do not believe that neocatastrophism is the answer to the extinction of the dinosaurs this is just another form of catastrophism.

*In reality: both paradigms that have affected the ideas of geognosists and geologists, are true. Catastrophies happen that change the form of the earth and sea. Uniformitarianism affects every piece of land on this globe.

*i.e. catastrophism and uniformitarianism in action happening always.

Catastrophism Events

*Volcanoes: cinder cones: spewing ash and raising the height of these smooth cones.
composite cone/stratovolcanoes: spews ash, gas and magma/lava. This type affects the shape of the earth which supports types of catastrophism. Calderas occur from the caving in of volcanic cones often from these types. a’a lava from these volcanoes also deforms the surface.
shield volcanoes: spewing pahoehoe lava, it deforms the surface by sprouting up on cinder cones and composite cones. Channeled scablands from floods in washington state is an example of pahoehoe lava deforming the surface of the earth and this exhibits a form of catastrophism

*Earthquakes: they place cracks in the earth deforming the surface (i.e. catastrophism). Port au Prince is a good example of this. The city is on a strike slip fault that slides in opposite directions of each other building stress like a rubber band and finally springing back causing the earth to shake. If Haitians were in smaller numbers they could be extinct right now. If this were true this could be a parallel example to the possible extinction of dinosaurs and other pre historic animals by catastrophisim. As in Port au Prince, Haiti, San Francisco, California is also on a strike slip fault (San Andreas fault) and in the future SF will be the next 2010 Port au Prince.

*Landslides: California is another good example.
*Sinkholes: in Karst topography areas, limestone is eaten in the ground by water creating cavities underground (resulting in beatiful caves that reside in MO, SD, AK, CO, FL and other states). When there is a large amount of cavities underground, heavy structures on the surface like houses fall in the cavity that is created.

*Ice Ages/Glacial Invasion: Every animal is used to its habitat and when its habitat is changed it will die and not prosper. When glaciers come into a previously unglaciated area or when the climate takes a change for the lower temps, the life there dies.

*Tornadoes/Lightning storms: tornadoes happen when two kinds of air come together pushing against each other. Much damage is resulted from this. It is not geological but it is catastrophist. Lightning storms start fires which create fire storms(i.e. California wildfires/ grassland or steppe grass fires)

*Tsunami: as a result of an earthquake under water, the ocean water is sucked deep into the ocean and then comes back as a huge wave that destroys the whole shore side (i.e. Indonesia, Thailand etc.).

*Hurricanes: aka typhoons in pacific. Everyone knows what they are. Hurricane Katrina destroyed New Orleans, LA and killed many. Hurricane Charlie is another very well known hurricane that did much damage.

other disasters and catastrophes may have occured to kill animals and change the shape of the earth in some way. All of these things support catastrophism and neocatastrophism.

Uniformitarianism/ Gradualism

*Erosion: The earthly formations exposure to the elements (i.e. weathering).
*Glaciation: When glaciers move across mountains or plains, a certain type of erosion occurs creating things like hanging valleys in mountain ranges and cirques.
*Water erosion: The banks of an ocean are always eaten away by the tide continuing to come in and out.
*Igneous Intrusion: Batholiths or laccoliths are when magma rises up into the crust and raises the effected area. dikes are a way of magma to intrude on a smaller scale.

many other specific processes proceed on the earth changing it gradually.

For both uniformitarianism and catastrophism, the litospheric plates float on the asthenosphere causing gradual and long of short and catastrophic changes on the earth. Both the neptunists and plutonists were right in geognosy. This debate helped found geology and decide that both ideas are right in what makes the surface/crust of this earth change shape.

In the previous Catastrophism post, I spoke about catastrophes that impacted the shape of the earth along with the fact that changes also happened gradually. The same is true for the personalities and behaviors of humans. There are large events in our lives that change who we are, how we think and how we behave. We also have gradual ideas that change us

Gradualism in Humans:

Catastrophism in Humans:
the important thing is that when we are not obeying, listening to, acknolwedging or talking to God, bad things happen. He put us on this world to obey him. If we are able to stick with him while we are living here, and accept him as our Lord and Savior we will succeed and live in heaven with him.
Without his presence in our lives things go wrong. Horribly wrong. Even though this happens naturallly, God uses those horrible things that happen to us to steer us back to him.

Cycle of the Sinner: Those who even have the slightest faith in God and his powers acknowledge and pray to God when they are in tough times. The tough times happen because of our lack of acknowledgement to God. We have to get past this to have the best relationship with God and to be the most like him.

Happy Independence:
When things go great in our lives, we are happy with it and we feel that we dont need to pray or acknowledge God in any way because things are perfect. We dont actually think this it just is a given for when we are happy. After a while of this happy independence the cycle takes a change for the worse.

Depressed Dependence:
Things will inevitably go wrong when we have not acknowledged God. In this stage we are worried or sad about the conditions in our lives. This is used by God to bring us back to him and after enough praying, repentence and relationship with God things will get better but then if the sinner does not learn, the sinner will be right back in this spot doing these things all over again.

The depressed dependence is a result of catastrophes that may occur of have occurred making the sinner sad/worried and praying to God for help.
This roller coaster of a cycle in catastrophism can always be avoided by regular contact with God. Im not saying things will be always great with regular contact but it wont exceed to a depressed dependence.

*I myself have experienced this cycle multiple times and am not saying that I am not a sinner and I am not saying that I always have regular contact with God

The Concept of Technology

20 May

this is another series of blogs I did a long time ago on another blog site.

This is the beginning of a 3 part series of posts concerning what technology is. We all know what it is. in the first two I dont think Ill be saying anything that is not known but the third one will be one that few people have even thought of but that I believe will eventually happen if the Revelation does not come first.

This is about the benefits we have.

  1. Computers/PCs: It replaced the type writer and Bill Gates brought it from being available to only rich people in the 80’s to being common as they are today.

-Email- we can now talk to each other over the computer in messages. was amazing to us when it first came out. Only drawback is when they send you emails asking you if you want to be bigger in that one certain area.

-Socail Networking- you can talk to everyone you have known in your life. no need to explain.

-online games -sharing of music and videos (Youtube etc.)- News- Search engines etc. the internet that is able for use oncomputers is a limitless entity.

*gets even better with things like Wifi when you can go sit under a tree and have internet access including all of the above.

WE love all of these things that come with personal computers and the internet

2. Cell Phones– used to be huge but now they are too small and I lose mine all the time. you can text and have internet wherever you want without your computer and without wifi connection. Texting is the biggest thing now. Cannot say that cell phones in technology arenot beneficial.

3. Gaming devices/speakers/ more efficient cars etc.

technology is a limitless entity which is beneficial to us right now (more on that later).

In my personal opinion there are 2 ways that technology can be bad for the world (other than the ultimate result if continued, will expand on that later).

Replacement of People
When technology is expaned it becomes more intricate and more complex and can almost think. The processes within it and the way certain machines are programmed allow them to do things like we can. This has a negative affect because when technology is developed enough to the point that there are machines intelligent enough to execute processes well enough that it could be an accountant or some other function what happens to the human accountant???
This has not yet happened to the extent that all companies are changing to machines for accountants instead of people but some jobs have been taken over by technology and people have been put out of work as a result of technological development. In the future, technology will become more developed and intelligent enough that jobs like accountants will be taken over by machines. If this happens during this current economic recession it will have an extreme negative affect

Humans vs. Machines

Throughout the last year that you have been using computers you cannot say in all truth that there has been no problems or errors that you have expereinced and had to deal with. Another thing that computers are susceptible to are viruses. On your computer you have precious pictures documents music and videos. Can you truthfully say that you trust your computer fully with all of those things? absolutely not. A virus could wipe them out, problems could occur and before they are saved it kicks you off and shuts down. Some sort of error occurs that you cant even use your computer or access those items. This is why you create backup accounts, get antivirus antispyware and flash drives for it to prevent your items from being lost forever. Point is that machines are subject to endless errors and problems that occur that cause problems with performance. Not to say that humans are perfect. they arent but humans are not material enough to be infected with cyber issues that are material like a computer.
We cannot trust everything to technology because there is always the risk of something happening.
If society were to progress to end up involving everthing on this earth in technology where everything happens and the whole entire world relies on technology alone trouble would be coming because there is always a new virus that comes out and people have to keep updating internet security. That wont happen if the whole world is technology and technology is the whole world. If something small happens it will escalate into huge problems because of how the whole world is technology alone and then it will be done because nothng will be able to be recovered. A technological error was thought to happen in 2000 because of how we thought that the technologtical systems would think its 190o. It didnt happen but something much more than that would actually occur if the above scenario were true.
This will happen if someone does not realize the consequences of subjecting everything to the errors that technology has.

What has technology done for society? It has advanced us very far and now simple and even complex tasks are done easily. Advances continue to be made that further advance technology and the result is our daily tasks are progressively made easier.

My Theory of Progress

Progress is when advances are made to make things better for everyone. Things are done and decisions are made that progress a society toward a better end. A better end is what is desired in the end but if progress is taken too far the end will be the opposite of what is desired.
Progress has been usually associated with technology and sometimes government like in the early 20th century when progress was popular as everyone wanted to better themselves.
In some things you can take progress as far as it goes without consequences.
In Government you can usually take progress as far as it goes but in some cases it leads to socialism and even communism (may have a series later concerning progress alone).
Technology is what I want to focus on now. Technology in progress takes progress to an almost infinite yet finite limit.

*Progress is best in moderation concerning all things that can be progressed.

If it is not in moderation you could end up with an end that is ten times worse than the progressive end you wanted.

Technology’s Ultimate Result of Progress

Why shoud progress be moderated? We are here on this earth to serve God. We are put here for our challeneges that we have to face. We are not left with a purpose if all of the hardships in life have been solved by progress. However I do not think that God would let progress go to its very end unless this world was at its very end in the Revelation. We also are not supposed to engage ourself fully in material things and technological progress at its very end would cause full engagement in this material thing by a lot of people. I do think that full technological progress could happen without the Revelation being near.

If technology continues they will inevitably get far enough that they can get inside the human mind physically. If this were to happen thoughts would be able to immediately be changed into actions. For example if you think that you want to change the channel on the tv you think it it happens. If the Revelation does not come first, the world will come to this. This seems better than getting up of one’s ass and getting the remote or manually using the tv to change the channel but things will also progress like robots that will be used as servants where if you think it that you are hungry the robot catches the thought and immediately feeds you and possibly using pills. If all these robots for servants and devices that are stuck in your mind that do what ever you want (another example that you want to get on the computer for internet you access the internet in your mind and you automaticall see it and if you want another URL you think it and it happens) and every possible technology is made (if this were to happen government would also be progressed and the U.S. might have gone to pure communism by then where they put chips in your head and put small devices on you that shock you) there is no struggle in life. People are trying to find a purpose in life now but if this scenario occurred the world would be a huge redundant mass.

*Full Progress in Technology=No Struggle=No Purpose for Existence

*I think it is very very possible that the world may come to this as it approaches the Revelation and all the people who invest there life in it and nothing else at all will perish.

**Not saying by any means that Technology is death people can have technology and material things but God must get a bigger part of that life than any material thing.

***Progress is best in moderation-Technology is best in moderation.

****Technology having achieved full extent of progress makes the world a Redundant Mass

Redundant Mass- A planetary mass where there is no purpose.
